FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BOSTON LITHO CLUB TO "DEMONSTRATE" AT AREA HIGH SCHOOLS' CAREER DAYS

BOSTON -- Date, 19XX -- The Boston Litho Club, with support from its parent affiliate, the National Association of Litho Clubs, Inc., will set up a special demonstration of high tech graphic arts equipment at the Boston Area High Schools' Career Days, scheduled for October 6-8 at the Civic Center.

The demonstration will feature some of the modern technology currently in use in the graphic arts industry, including a color electronic prepress system (CEPS) and digital scanning equipment.

Club president, Diane Smythe, said the club chose to go beyond the typical booth exhibit because of the dramatic changes in the industry.

"The printing industry has experienced a lot of advancements which the public at-large knows little about. Our industry has definitely gone high tech and I think a live demonstration of this technology will make a greater impression on these students than brochures and still photos."

Employment opportunities in the printing industry are strong and the need for new employees with high tech skills is growing. It has been estimated the industry could need as many as 60,000 new employees annually in the United States alone.
