NALC Awards Program for
Local Member of the Year
Application due by November 30
The objective of the NALC Awards Program is to create an awareness of the outstanding contributions made by a member within their own organization. It was noted by NALC officers that the NALC should be aware of the value of that special member. Each nominee will receive a suitable award presented to them at their local monthly meeting by a local Polaroid sales representative.
Nominees for the Award can be on the basis of one major specific accomplishment for their local club, or a series of smaller, but consistent activities. Guidelines that are suggested include:
- Ingenuity and creativity that have benefitted the local club. Look for the member whose good ideas and suggestions have improved existing services, programs or benefits or initiated new ones that didn't exist previously.
- Extraordinary skill in the performance of club duties. This may pertain to an officer or committee chairperson who achieved more during their term of office than normally expected.
- Reliability and length of service. Consider the reliable member who over the years is always available to handle a project, set up a special program, get out a bulletin or moderate a session...and consistently does it well.
